One Fine Day Cardigan
Along with release of the second half of the Lion Brand Fall/Winter Styling Guide capsule collection, I'm pleased to introduce the One Fine Day Cardigan. This easy knit is the epitome of what I think of when it comes to fall knits. Oversized but drapey and lightweight, it will be a go-to for me throughout the season.
The most exciting part of fall for me is "sweater weather." I love layering big, chunky knits over every outfit and indulging in the coziness of it all. For the second part of the Lion Brand collection I knew I wanted to do an easy, oversized knit that could be layered easily to be worn over a variety of outfits.
The One Fine Day Cardigan is perfect for a jeans and t-shirt look or a dress with boots. It's lightweight due to the soft and fluffy nature of New Basic yarn, but it's also enveloping and warm. It makes a great companion for a stroll through the streets or a cup of tea on the couch.
When I design I am always mindful of the difficulty of my patterns. My customers are generally fashion forward and busy and don't have much time to decipher a complicated pattern or learn advanced skills, so the majority of my pieces tend to be on the easy end of the scale. The One Fine Day Cardigan is no exception. With simple stitches like stockinette and seed stitch and minimal shaping only at the shoulders, this piece is beginner friendly if you know just a few basic techniques.
This piece has been designed exclusively for Lion Brand using their New Basic 175 yarn. You can purchase the individual pattern here.
This will definitely be first thing I grab when there's a chill in the air, and I'll be wearing over turtlenecks well into the season to increase it's longevity.
