The Louisa Wrap
If you follow me on social media you know I have had a major addiction to triangle scarves and tassels lately. I had so much fun designing the Coffee Shop Wrap and Tea House Wrap in collaboration with Lion Brand Yarn in the last few months, and I knew that I wanted to do something similar but super chunky for my fall collection. Introducing the Louisa Wrap!
I wanted the Louisa Wrap to be simple and sophisticated and something that would be a staple of a fall wardrobe. I chose to crochet it in a solid color so that it would be easy to pair with multiple outfits and I added a few eyelet rows to add some texture and details. The tassels are the icing on the cake.
What I love most about this piece is that it really captures what I try to achieve with all of my designs - a modern approach to a timeless art form. Crochet shawls are nothing new, but elements like the uneven eyelet rows, super bulky weight yarn, and jumbo tassels along with the convertible style of this wrap give it a contemporary update that's both chic and functional. I wanted the name to reflect this idea as well, and with the resurgence of what one might think of as older names becoming popular again, I thought "Louisa" perfectly characterized the updated spin on this traditional piece.
Whether you're cozied up at home with the Louisa Wrap draped over your shoulders or battling the cold streets with it wrapped in front as a scarf, this is a piece that will get plenty of use during the cold months. It's a total statement piece that will never go out of style.
